Israel Bombs Tehran’s Evin Prison, Hits Multiple Regime Targets

Israeli airstrikes in Tehran hit facilities belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) including the Evin Prison, a site notorious for holding political prisoners and dual nationals.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out the attack on the military facilities. Security footage captures the moment a missile strike blasts open the gates of Evin Prison.

Iran International reported that the strike killed at least 16 people, including staff members, and that the blast allowed some inmates to escape. The strike also reportedly caused injuries among inmates and visitors.
France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the attack, saying it put two French nationals in danger. Amnesty International said the strike may be a war crime if it targeted a civilian site.
Other targets of the most recent IDF strike included command centers of the IRGC, the Basij Resistance Force, the Alborz Corps, and the General Intelligence Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, according to the IDF.
