U.S. Strike Targets Colombian Vessel, Killing Three
The U.S. military launched a strike against an alleged drug-smuggling boat linked to Colombia’s National Liberation Army, killing three people, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced.
Hegseth said the strike was carried out Friday in international waters within the U.S. Southern Command’s jurisdiction. It marks the seventh such operation in recent weeks under the Trump administration.
Following the strike, President Donald Trump called Colombian President Gustavo Petro an “illegal drug leader” and vowed to halt large-scale U.S. payments and subsidies to Colombia. Bogotá’s Foreign Ministry condemned the remarks as offensive and a threat to national sovereignty. (Read More)
